Farrell went back to the waiting area and thanked Misty. “She’s so much better, Mist. Thanks. I’m not going to ask you how you did that, I’m just grateful you did it.”

“You’re welcome. How did your little talk go?”

“Good. Both of us are going to talk to Pete and move on from there.”

“I’ll go have a little chat to Pete myself before Blaine and I go home. He’s badly injured anyway since Tommy kicked him and broke his hind leg. I need some alone time with him.” Misty giggled. “It will be a two-fer.”

Farrell raised an eyebrow. “I didn’t know Tommy hurt Pete. What was he doing with Gilly?”

“He was helping her and Ardal on the serial killer case and they weren’t at home at the time. They were up near Oklahoma. Moonbeam told me Ardal and Tommy had a fist fight and Tommy drove back to Austin.”

“I need to know more about this,” said Farrell. “I can’t picture Tommy kicking any dog.”

Misty shrugged. “Thomas has never recovered from Sonny kidnapping Gillette, Farrell. You have to remember that. Sonny took her, then you took her. Thomas hasn’t come to terms with losing the person he loves.”

“I guess I didn’t think of it that way,” said Farrell.

“Try it on from his point of view,” said Misty. “Your cousin has several unresolved anger issues coming from two sources, you and Sonny.”

“I thought he was okay with me and Gilly being a couple,” said Farrell. “Guess he isn’t.”

“No, he is not,” said Misty. “Far from it.”
